February 2018 Updates

Spaghetti Feed Dinner
Feburary 17 @ 4 PM till 8 PM
Location: 345 E. Alder St.

The Alsea Valley Gleaners are excited to introduce a Community Social held on a regular basis to gather support for needed supplies and ongoing expenses. The first was held in January. The next will be a Spaghetti Feed with garlic bread, salad, drink, and dessert. We are requesting $7 for adults and a suggested donation for children over 10 years of age, $5. Ten and under are free. Look forward to seeing you there!

Oddfellows Grant

The Oddfellows in Corvallis was kind enough to send us an unsolicited grant in the amount of $527.50. The grant is much appreciated and will be used to increase our capacity for gleaning and storing food.

Distribution Location Changes

Our distribution location has changed for the winter, due to the cold weather. For now, it is occurring on Thursdays at the Winterbourne’s home at 345 E. Alder St.

Treasurer Retires

Avie Wren, our treasurer for eight years, is retiring at the age of 90. We are grateful for her many years of service and wish her the best in her future endeavors. She will be greatly missed since she has attended countless distribution and kept us on our toes with her wit and wisdom.

Unwanted Vechicles & Trailers Welcome

To support our fundraising efforts, we are accepting unwanted vehicles and trailers. Titled and untitled are both helpful.

Cans & Bottles Accepted

The Gleaners recently made about $30 by returning cans and bottles for their deposits. If you’d like to contribute yours, drop them off at the Winterbourne home at 345 East Alder Street. To make it quick and easy, just bag and drop them over the fence.

Interested in joining the Gleaners? Contact Amber or John Winterbourne at 541-819-9125 or 541-487-5002. There is plenty of food to go around!
